How to incorporate DEI work into your business

There isn’t a convenient time to do DEI work. You’ve got to make time in your life and business.

I often hear business owners say how much they know DEI work is important but they just can’t find the time to commit to the learning. 🤷🏻‍♀️

🙅🏻‍♀️ I want to do this work when I can show up fully and be present.

🙅🏻‍♀️ It’s not something I can commit to right now, maybe in a few months.

🙅🏻‍♀️ I’m afraid of what it might bring up for me.

🙅🏻‍♀️ The timing doesn’t work.

The truth is when it comes to anything in life, if we want to make steps forward, we have to make time for it.

There isn’t a convenient time to commit to DEI work. In fact if anything, we’ve seen the interest peak when there’s been an unfortunate tragedy that has led us to frantically make time.

What I know for sure is we make time for the things we value.

We make time to:

▶ Grow our businesses

▶ Spend time with family and friends

▶ Take care of ourselves physically and spiritually

▶ Spend money on the things we want

The right time to commit to doing DEI work is when you decide to DO the work. It will require making time because as you keep saying, it’s important work. Work that you want to be part of your life and business.

One simple way you can incorporate DEI work into your business is by hosting DEI educators and consultants on your podcasts and in your group programs.
